Pernille Hardercaptain and emblem of the women’s team Denmark, showed his displeasure yesterday after the brutal defeat against Spain (3-2) in the second of two meetings that the Nordic team made with Montse Tomé’s team. And with a quarter of an hour left they won 0-2 with a double from Janni Thomsen.
The forward, who played the entire game, gave his take on what happened in Tenerife after the final whistle. They made a mistake again and paid dearly for it: “The corner kicks killed us. Too many…”. Two of Spain’s three goals came after a corner. And they were both scored by Barça player Irene Paredes (although in one of them the ball bounced off Bruna Vilamala).
More difficult, despite regretting those particular mistakes that ruined everything, explained that “we played very well against the world champions. I hit the ball on the post and we had more chances to score. So in fact I was left with many positive aspects, but now it’s just a stick.”
