Vinicius Junior, Real Madrid forwardsaid Wednesday that he hopes to achieve United States Copa America his first title with the Brazilian team. “I don’t have a national team title yet, hopefully now,” he said in Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) media statements after joining the Canarinha concentration in Orlando.
This will be the third tournament that Vinicius plays with the Brazilian team, after the 2019 Copa América and the 2022 World Cup, and for the first time he comes as the main star of the five-time world champion.
The 23-year-old forward made sure of that Brazil has a generation of players who are “very strong” and said that now they have to make good preparations for the tournament.
Vinicius joined Brazil’s camp on Wednesday with his Real Madrid teammates Rodrygo Goes and Éder Militao after winning the Champions League last weekend. The three football players are the last to join the work of Canarinha, which since Thursday of last week has been preparing for a friendly against Mexico and the United States, before the continental tournament debut.
The whole team will travel this Thursday to Texas to play the first of the tests against Mexico on Saturday. Four days later they will face the host team, the United States, in Orlando, in the final test before the start of the America Cup.
Canarinha will begin the road to a tenth continental title on June 24 against Costa Ricaat SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, and then Paraguay and Colombia face each other in the group stage.
