Twenty years later, here comes one of RTVE’s summer sporting events: the German Football Euro Cup 2024. Twenty-four teams will be looking for the European title in 51 matches that will be seen openly on La 1, La 2, Teledeporte, RNE, RTVE Play, for the first time, in Ultra High Definition via La 1 UHD. This Friday the tournament begins in La 1 with the opening match in Germany-Scotland; Tomorrow, it’s time for the debut of the Spanish National Team, which seeks to lift its fourth trophy.
The Munich Football Arena will host the opening ceremony and the match that will open the tournament, Germany-Scotland, Friday the 14th starting at 8:30 pm, with narration by David Figueira and comments by Albert ‘Chapi’ Ferrer.
The Spanish National Team led by Luis de la Fuente, Framed in Group B, they make their debut against Croatia on Saturday at 6:00 pm, with Juan Carlos Rivero on narration and Mario Suárez on commentary. The next match of the Group Stage comes on Thursday the 20th, at 9:00 pm, Spain-Italy, with Rivero, Suárez and Verónica Boquete; and on the 24th, Monday, they will face Albania, at 9:00 pm, narrated by Juan Carlos Rivero and comments by Mario Suárez and Carlos Marchena. All matches in Spain can be seen on La 1.
From the RTVE headquarters in Berlin and from the Euro Cup stadiums, Marcos López, Paco Caro and special envoys will provide all the information about the teams and what will happen in the tournament in all the edition of the News and in the special Eurocup program. A space that will pay special attention to the journey of La Roja led by Roi Groba.
Narrating the matches, Juan Carlos Rivero, Mario Suárez, David Figueira, Chapi Ferrer, Paco Caro and Carlos Marchena, Paco Grande, Alicia Arévalo and Albert Font. And in technical comments, three international players with Spain -Verónica Boquete from Germany, and Vicky Losada and Myriam Diéguez; and Carlos Marañón and Alberto Garcia.
On RNE and RTVE Audio, you can hear 47 of the 51 matches of the Euro Cup, with narration by the best voices in public radio and comments by Julio Salinas, Emilio Amavisca, Onísimo Sánchez, Fernando Gómez Colomer and Alfredo Santaelena; player Vero Boquete and analyst Patricia Campos. ‘Tablero Deportivo’, with Manu Martínez, will be broadcast live from all the stadiums where Spain plays. And all the information on ‘Radiogaceta de los Deportes’ and ‘El locker room’, on Radio 5, through 15 special representatives of the station.
The RTVE networks will have users connected to the Euro Cup, with the Teledeporte account on X, TikTok, Instagram and Facebook. And in Sports on RTVE.es, all the news, videos and summaries with the best of each match or day.
In Germany, a mobile unit and field position will manage the personalization of the National Team matches in the group stage and the matches in the knockout stages. A set in front of the iconic Brandenburg Gate in Berlin, with new UHD cameras, will be the location for presentations and interviews. And seven editors in their ENG equipment, using 5G IP backpacks, will complete the coverage from the stadiums.
