Bayern Munich have closed in on their first signing of the Vincent Kompany era: Japanese Hiroki Ito. As published by Fabrizio Romano, the Bavarian club reached an agreement with Stuttgart for 30 million euros and the integration of the defender could become official in the next few hours.
The 25-year-old Japanese defender is the undisputed starter for Stuttgart, second only to Bayer Leverkusen’s Xabi Alonso. His versatility allows him to play as a center back and as a left back interchangeably and that is something that Bayern’s new coach appreciates.
He will sign a five-year contract with the Munich team, until 2029. Stanisic, who is on loan from Leverkusen, will also strengthen Bayern’s rearguard. In addition, the Bavarian club is following in the footsteps of Tah, also from Bayer Leverkusen, and has put De Ligt on the market.
