The first favorite, the Belarusian Aryna Sabalenkasuffered to overcome the Belgian Alison Van Uytvanck and reach the semifinals of the Hertogenbosch WTA tournament, where the Swiss fell belinda bencicsecond seeded, surpassed by Russian Veronika Kudermetova.
Sabalenka needed three sets and two hours and seven minutes to survive the tournament. The sixth player in the world has already lost on the grass to Van Uytvanck, in Majorca in 2018. He fought this time and sealed the win 6-3, 3-6 and 7-6 (5).
