BMW has announced the withdrawal of its second team from World Superbike in 2025

In the fifth round of the Superbike World Championship, held at the Italian ‘Marco Simoncelli’ circuit in Misano Adriatico, the Turkish Toprak Razgatlioglu achieved his first ‘treble’ and led the specialty’s provisional championship, after which ‘BMW Motorrad Motorsport’ has announced that from 2025 its second team in the championship will not compete on its motorcycles.

Currently, German Jurgen Röder leads the second BMW team in World Superbike, ‘Bonovo Action BMW’, which includes the American Garrett Gerloff and the British Scott Reddingbut, starting in 2025, and for ‘personal reasons’ they will stop competing with the mechanics of the Bavarian manufacturer.

In a statement made public this Monday, ‘BMW Motorrad Motorsport’ has announced its decision to compete in the 2025 World Superbike Championship with those colors, with the same drivers and with the aim of continuing their successful participation in the current season.

Jürgen Röder explained in the press release issued by BMW that from 2025 he will leave his position for personal reasons and, consequently, “Bonovo action to retire as BMW factory equipment“.

“I want to thank our entire team under the leadership of our boss Michael Galinski, who always does a great job and we hope that we can have more impact as we do everything, the best we can, to move forward, and we hope that we can still show some signs of life in our part this year,” he added.

I also want to thank BMW, which has always been a fair and very reliable partner., who supported us in everything and even this year we receive the same pieces as our SMR colleagues; “My sincere thanks to BMW and especially to Marc Bongers for their support over the years,” added Röder.

“We are very happy to have Toprak Razgatlioglu and Michael van der Mark, two absolutely top-level riders, in our factory team for the 2025 Superbike World Championship,” said Marc Bongers, sports director of BMW Motorrad Motorsport, adding he that “both have proven in recent years that they are at the highest level and will form a powerful couple on the BMW M 1000 RR next season.”

“We regret Jürgen Röder’s decision not to continue his participation, but at the same time we understand it,” continues Marc Bongers, who on the note wants to “thank the entire Bonovo action BMW Racing Team, Jürgen Röder and the director that Michael Galinski, who led the team with great passion and dedication, to the drivers, technicians and mechanics, as well as to all other parties involved for the excellent and professional collaboration of the past years.”
