Formula 1 comes to the Catalan capital with a festival that has become the center of competition on wheels par excellence at the F1 Barcelona Fan Festival. The event, open to all citizens and free, will take place in Plaza Catalunya and Paseo de Gràcia until June 22. The main course will arrive this afternoon and will allow you to see the famous teams in action along the most famous city street The show will fill the Catalan capital with excitement as a preamble to the Grand Prix that will be held this weekend at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
In addition to this exhibition on the asphalt in the center of Barcelona, Plaza Catalunya currently hosts the Formula 1 Barcelona Fan Village, which opens its doors from 12 to 9 pm on weekdays and from 11 am to 9 pm You will find an exhibition of F1 cars, replicas of an inner box, a podium and a trophy, F1 Sim Racing simulators, exciting games like F1 Blast Lane, inspired by wind tunnel of teams, and a reflex game, the Batak Reflex Challenge. There are also Pit Stop simulation activities, a Scalextric track and merchandising stores for official F1 products, among others.
In addition, a stage with a giant screen has been installed with entertainment, concerts and activities, and from which the Grand Prix qualifying session can be followed live. Although access is free, people wishing to access the Fan Village will need to download a free invitation from the Circuit’s ticket portal, as capacity is limited.
Road Show, a unique experience
The most special moment of the week comes this afternoon when the Formula 1 Road Show takes place, which will allow fans to see the protagonists of the World Championship in action in an unrepeatable experience.
Scuderia Ferrari member, Carlos Sainz, will be the big draw. He will be joined by Alpine test driver Jack Doohan, a young F1® promise and son of the legendary five-time 500cc motorcycle world champion, Mick Doohan. Catalans from the Campos Racing team Pepe Martí (Formula 2™) and Mari Boya (Formula 3™) will also be present.
The F1 cars will roll on the asphalt in the center of Barcelona starting at 6pm this Wednesday, June 19. The cars will leave from Ronda Universitat, where the teams’ pits are located, they will head north and continue along the interior of Paseo de Gràcia, up to Casa Batlló (before reaching Aragó street) to return south.
Current F1®, F2™ and F3™ drivers will drive their cars through the city’s iconic buildings. When the Road Show ends, the Fan Forum will be held, from 7 to 8:30 pm on the Fan Village stage in Plaza Catalunya, where F1 idols will pass by and there will be entertainment and live music. The purpose of the event is to bring the world of Formula 1 closer to citizens and family audiences so that those who do not have the possibility to access the Grand Prix can enjoy its excitement.
