The Venezuelan Yulimar Rojascurrent Olympic champion and athlete of FC Barcelonareaffirmed his status as the top favorite to win gold in the triple jump event at the next World Championships in Eugene (United States), after signing this Saturday with La Nucia (Alicante) the best world record of the year with a record of 14.83 meters.
Rojas, who played in his first outdoor triple contest of the season, surpassed 36 centimeters the best course record so far, the 14.58 meters signed by Cuban Leyanis Pérez on May 22nd.
The world record holder, who started his tournament with a null jump, was crushed on his second attempt at 14.55 meters, yes, assisted by the wind of +2.4 meters per second.
Rojas failed again in his third jump before reaching 14.83 meters in his fourth effort.
The 26-year-old jumper completed his performance in the final of League of Iberdrola of clubs with a new null jump and a 14.42 -meter attempt in which he closed out his series on the Alicante track.
