Mark Cavendish go to Tour de France with a clear purpose. The Briton suffered an unfortunate crash in last year’s edition which prevented him from surpassing the record for most stage wins which he shared with Eddy Merckx, with 34. Cavendish got rid of his thorn in the fifth stage of this year’s Tour, brilliantly winning the sprint at Saint-Vulbas. These are the cyclists with the most stage wins in Tour history.
