The former professional player Fabrice Abriel was appointed coach of the women’s team PSG until 2026, the capital club announced this Monday. Abriel, who trained in Paris and played there between 2000 and 2002, succeeds Jocelyn Prêcheur, who arrived in September 2023 to replace his father Gérard Prêcheur. Under the direction of Prêcheur, PSG reached the championship final won by Lyon.
The finalist in the last French Cup with Fleury (1-0 loss against PSG), Abriel (45) also played for Lorient and OM during his playing career. “It is a real honor to be chosen to start this new chapter with the Paris Saint-Germain women’s team. I thank the club for its trust. I was lucky to train here and start professionally in this shirt.”
“Today I am proud to return and happy to have the opportunity to give back to the club by working with this group of talented players,” the new coach told the club’s media.
