Several unions of the Paris airport management group, ADP, announced this Monday a strike for July 17nine days before the opening of the Olympic Games to demand “extraordinary pay” for all staff.
The convening unions (CGT, CFDT, FO and Unsa) accused the executive director of ADP, Augustin de Romanet, of giving this incentive to part of the workers and not to all.
The ADP group employs 570,000 people in Franceespecially focused on Charles de Gaulle-Roissy (403,300), Orly (157,440) and Le Bourget (10,120) airports.
During the summer season, the first two airports receive an average of 350,000 passengers per day.
Workers fear that the flow will increase significantly during the Gamestherefore they seek a guarantee from the management that the services will not be missed and their efforts will be rewarded.
