Gareth Southgate, England manager, was launched on Monday a message to Manchester United players who is currently not on the national ‘pross’ team. Southgate told them they had “a lot of things to do” to get back into the England squad for the World Cup.
Full-back Luke Shaw was injured, while Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho were not called due to his poor fitness. Harry Maguire was the only United player called up for Tuesday’s game against Hungary.
Southgate have been without Rashford and Sancho since the loss to England in the final of the last European Championship (on penalties against Italy). But the England coach said they both have a chance to change their minds through the games they will play with United before the World Cup (which starts on November 21). Neither one nor the other have participated in the last 3 Premier games, in which United finished 6th, outside the Champions League.
