LALIGA reaffirms its commitment to fighting audiovisual fraud

One of them is from Criminal Court No. 15 of Madrid dated June 27, condemning “two sellers of fraudulently modified decoders as perpetrators of a continuing crime against the market and consumers, imposing on each of them sentences of 6 months in prison and 6 month fine with a daily payment of 3 euros ( 540 euros)” in addition to paying “20,000 euros as civil liability to THE LEAGUE and MEDIAPROto make private accusations in the case”.

The second is from Criminal Court No. 4 of Malagawhich “condemns an operator as responsible for a crime against the market and consumers with sentences of 6 months imprisonment and 6 months fine with a daily payment of 6 euros (1,080 euros)” as in addition to paying “15,000 euros in the concept of civil liability THE LEAGUE, MEDIAPRO and ANDALUSIAN PUBLIC TELECOMMUNICATIONS“.

Finally, a third of Criminal Court No. 28 of Barcelona “which condemns the seller of fraudulently modified decoders as the author of an ongoing crime against the market and consumers to a sentence of one year in prison, and a fine with a daily payment of 5 euros (1,350 euros)” in addition to the payment “of 1,328.63 euros to THE LEAGUEin terms of civil liability”.

THE LEAGUE Considering that these sentences confirm its position “in the face of the crimes of audiovisual fraud involving the theft of the rights of the Clubs in the competition with a consequent risk for the future viability of the Competition.”
