Toni Bou leads the summer break in the overall standings of the TrialGP World Championship with 177 points after winning this Sunday in the fifth round of the season in Comblain-au-Pont (Belgium).
The Catalan driver added his eighth win of the year and increasing his lead to 42 points overall over his teammate Gabriel Marcelliwhich is the second this weekend.
Bou completed the first lap of the track in the lead with 21 penalty points to Marcelli’s 31. In the second he accumulated 18 more, but it was enough for him to win the Grand Prix with 39, eleven more than any other Repsol Honda rider.
“Today’s result is fantastic overall and we couldn’t ask for more. “Things have gone very well for us this season, so I can only thank the team for all the work they do to make it all possible,” he said.
Bou admits he will leave for summer break “with great feelings” after a “very, very good first half of the season”, but warned that “we still have to finish the championship.”
Marcelli also finished “very happy and satisfied” because he was driving “well even though he felt the pressure for the general classification” by finishing it “with a good second lap to finish in second position”, giving him with “extra peace of mind and motivation for what’s to come.” In front”.
