The Olympic Games, The most important sporting event on the planet kicks off this week in Paris to experience 17 unforgettable days for all sports lovers. From Friday, July 26 to Sunday, August 11, the best athletes in each of the 32 sports included in the competition program will seek to enter the history of their discipline by hanging an Olympic medal around their neck.
At Paris 2024, there will be nine Spanish representatives who will try to fulfill that dream in cycling events: David Valero –who already won bronze at Tokyo 2020- and Jofre Cullell in XCO; Mavi García, Mireia Benito, Oier Lazkano, Alex Aranburu and Juan Ayuso on the highway; and Albert Torres and Sebastián Mora on Track.
The individual time trial at the Paris Olympic Games will start at the Esplanade des Invalides and will have a mostly flat route of 32.4 km, without any notable difficulties and will be the same for men and women. The men’s online race will take place on a 273 km route with a gradient of 2,800 meters, which will consist of a large preliminary loop of 225 km through the western part of the Paris region and will involve climbing ten elevations . After completing it, they will return to the city of Paris to face three laps of the decisive final urban circuit, where they will have to overcome in each lap the climb to Montmartre, 1 km at a 6.5% average slope.

The XCO races at the Paris Olympic Games will be held on Elancourt Hill, an artificial hill which, thanks to its 231 meter height, has been established as the highest point in the Paris region. Taking advantage of the slopes and paths of this public park, which belongs to the town of Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, about 40 km from the Villa and very close to the Velodrome, an attractive and varied route has been designed where the Olympic medals are disputed.
The Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines Velodrome, built in 2014, will celebrate the tenth anniversary of its creation by hosting all the track cycling competitions of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games as well as the 2015 Track World Championships or the 2016 European Championships.
