The NFL’s Chicago Bears have given a six-day vacation to their player Jonathan Owens, husband of Simone Bilesto travel to Paris to cheer on the gymnast, favorite to win Olympic gold.
Midway through the preseason, and in a friendly match on day 1 against Houston Texas, Owens’ new club was released between July 29 and August 3 to allow him an express trip in the French capital.
“He will support the one he loves the most. We respect the Olympic Games. It will be wonderfulBears coach Matt Eberflus said in announcing his decision.
Owens will arrive in time to see the women’s team final on the 30th and the individual final on August 1 of complete competition, with Biles likely to win two gold medals.
The NFL player turned 29 on Monday and Biles posted a congratulatory message on her Instagram account: “Happy, happy birthday to my husband, best friend, confidant and partner partying Thank you for being the calm in my storm. I love you with all my heart and I can’t wait to see what this year has in store for us. Let’s do it, big man! I wish I could be there to celebrate with you, but we’ll see each other soon!!”
