“We will give everything we have, all the strength we have to face the two games at an optimal level of energy and physicality, trying to improve and be focused every moment. I think that with enthusiasm nothing can stop us,” said the Spaniard after defeating the Dutch Tallon Griekspoor and Wesley Koolhof of 6-4, 6-7(2) and 10-2.

Alcaraz will face the Russian in the individual draw in the morning for a spot in the quarterfinals. Roman Safiullin and in the afternoon in doubles with Rafael Nadal to the Americans Austin Krajicek and Rajjev Ram for a place in the semifinals.

“I’m not afraid of being in the same draw, it’s an exciting tournament for me, it’s a dream. We’ll give everything so we have enough strength to face both matches,” he insisted.

The Spaniard ensured that he did not suffer from the physical problems that hindered him in his previous individual duel against Griekspoor.

“The doubles is not as demanding as the singles, with the support with the right leg I have no discomfort, it’s pretty good. We will do everything we can to recover it as much as possible and go out tomorrow without pain and not putting the time is in danger,” he commented.

Alcaraz stated that they do not feel the pressure of the whole country expecting them to leave Paris with gold around their necks.

“We don’t think too much, you won’t win with names, in doubles no matter what happens, there are good doubles players who are a couple all year round and have confidence,” he said.

The player assured that Tuesday’s game was “better” than the first: “In the net position, in the plays, I think everything has been better. It’s normal to start a little doubtful, but while we have chance we will go better”.

“Every day we get to know each other better on and off the court and the truth is that it helps in the games. We have a family atmosphere (at the Olympic Village), we try to have as much fun as possible,” he said.
