Lucy Bronze already feels the pressure: “I want determined players”

Date:

Sonia Bompastor start a new adventure in Chelsea after successful years at Olympique de Lyon. The 44-year-old French coach arrived in London to replace Emma Hayes, who also did not do badly and started her career with the American team in the best way, where she won a gold medal at the Paris Games.

Bompastor, yesterday, defined himself as a “very ambitious” coach and made his intentions clear: “I want a dominant team in the league and in the Champions League. I want a team with the ball and the players are really committed. I want them to enjoy going on the field, playing in a good style and in a fun way for everyone, and they get a lot of goals.

And one of the players he expects is Lucy Bronze, who after a very good year at FC Barcelona will contribute her experience to the English team. The first test is on the tour that now begins in the United States, with matches against Gotham (New Jersey) and Arsenal (Washington). “I love coming back to the United States. It’s a place I have a good connection with. The way women’s football developed there and the way they developed players, it was great then and it’s still great now .There are players still playing in the United States that I played with or against.

“I’m happy with the squad I have, although we’re still waiting for some more arrivals,” says a Bopastor who defines herself differently from her predecessor Emma Hayes: “I have a different vision and philosophy. I’m just trying to take advantage of that legacy and honor all that has been done before by forging my own style.

Asked if she feels pressure from the club, she responded: “Right now I don’t feel any pressure. Although the club is putting a little pressure on me, I am the one who is putting more pressure on me. I don’t need someone to come. and tell me what I should do. I signed for four years and I think it’s a good amount of time for me to put my philosophy, my vision and how I feel.

The Frenchwoman qualified herself professionally and personally: “As a coach I am very competitive and I don’t like to lose. I am a very bad loser.” “In my main life, I think I’m calm and I want to enjoy life.” “I’m really different at home and at work.”
