Andrich and Leverkusen extend their future together

He Bayer LeverkusenGerman champions, announced on Friday the contract extension of its midfielder Robert Andrich for two years, until June 2028. Leverkusen is “absolutely the right direction. I am experiencing the most successful phase of my career and I feel that the hunger of the team is still great, even after this special season ,” he said in a statement.

The 29-year-old joined the club in 2021 from Union Berlin and has since played 118 times for Leverkusen, scoring 16 goals. He made his debut with the German national team in November and has made ten appearances for the national team, including all the team’s matches until the quarter-finals of Euro 2024.

Last season, Leverkusen became the first team in Bundesliga history to go undefeated throughout the season, winning their first league title while also winning the German Cup.

Leverkusen sporting director Simon Rolfes described Andrich as a “central pillar” of the team and praised his “exceptional performances on the international stage” in the same press release. Leverkusen begins its season in the German Super Cup final on Saturday (8:30 pm), hosting Stuttgart at home.
