Last season, Leverkusen became the first team in Bundesliga history to go undefeated throughout the season, winning their first league title while also winning the German Cup.
Leverkusen sporting director Simon Rolfes described Andrich as a “central pillar” of the team and praised his “exceptional performances on the international stage” in the same press release. Leverkusen begins its season in the German Super Cup final on Saturday (8:30 pm), hosting Stuttgart at home.
