The cyclist of the Spanish under-23 team Pablo Torres installed like new leader of the Tour of the Futurewith a 31-second lead with two days left, at win the fourth stage alone this Thursday142.6 kilometers between the French towns of La Rosière and Les Karellis.
Torres’ victory at the finish in Les Kareille came after escaping a decisive attack less than 12 kilometers from the finish line, to arrive alone, after passing Dutchman Darren Van Bekkum and Belgian Jarno Widar, second and third, respectively seconds from Madrid.
Torres is first overall with a time, after the bonus, of 14h.18:37, followed by 31 seconds behind Widar, while the British Joseph Blackmore is now third overall in 1:03.
“Today at the beginning I didn’t feel good, but as soon as Bisiaux stopped I said this is my moment, I started and gave everything to the finish line. At the start of the day I didn’t expect. You never expect to win a stage in the Tour del Porvenir, much less wear yellow, so I am very happy,” declared Torres when he got off the podium in the statements issued by the RFEC.
The fifth stage will be held this Friday between Les Karellis and Condoue, on a mountain route of 119.3 kilometers.
