Kron and Caruso did not start the seventh stage of the Vuelta

Both Kron, who suffered a fall in the sixth stage that ended at Yunquera Málaga, and Caruso know what it’s like to win a stage in the Spaniard’s career.

Thus, the sixth stage claimed a total of five casualties, three of which occurred on the course. The main one is the Colombian Rigoberto Urán (EF Education), who is competing in his 25th grand tour in the stages, the last before leaving professionalism.

Urán fractured the greater trochanter of his left hip as a result of the fall and Spaniard Jon Aberasturi (Euskaltel-Euskadi) and Frenchman Kenny Elissonde (Cofidis) also left. Both Urán and Elissonde also have stage wins at the Vuelta.
