David Alonso He is the favorite driver to win the race. Moto3 of the Aragon GP after completely dominating all practice sessions over the weekend. And after the first laps everyone indicated that he would take the victory. However, the one that became the driver of the day was Jose Antonio Rueda. The pilot of KTM he adapted better than anyone on a delicate track with water drops and achieved his first World Championship victory ahead of Collin Veijer and Luca Lunetta. Alonso finished fourth, consolidating his lead.
Not only did the Andalusian achieve the first victory of his life, but he also had the honor of being the 400th winner in MotoGP history
The start was complicated because the rain during the night and early morning meant that some positions, outside the ideal route, were full of water drops and humidity. A caution came out and David Alonso kept the lead with no problem to start the pull. The one who suffered the most was David Muñoz, who went from third to 14th.
With just one lap to go, Alonso was one second and six tenths ahead of the chasing pack, which turned into chaos to see who was leading the chase. Adrián Fernández, who made a spectacular comeback from 17th position, started to lead the group with the fastest lap.
After a few laps, the Colombian left Aspar with a margin of two seconds while Furusato, after another comeback from the middle of the grid, began to lead the chasing group. The Japanese were the ones with the biggest risk on a delicate track and shaved half a second off one turn.
But with the change of track, every lap the fastest driver is different. that’s all Collin Veijer overtook Furusato with 11 laps remaining and began to make up time for Alonso. In one lap he managed to cut nine tenths off him and made it clear that he was the only one capable of arguing against David’s victory.
Rueda’s return
With 7 laps remaining, the Dutchman from Husqvarna was close to the Colombian from Team Aspar and in the next lap the man from Intact GP took the lead. Unexpectedly, a rivalry turned into a four-way fight with the arrival of Rueda and Luca Lunetta.
Rueda took first place with five laps to go and began pulling away with his KTM. He took a risk and almost got patched at Turn 12. However, he was able to hold on to the lead and cross the finish line for the first time in first position. Unforgettable day for the pilot 18 years old born in Seville
Collin Veijer was second while rookie Lunetta also achieved his first podium of his life. For his part, David Alonso suffered in the second half of the race but saved the day. He finished fourth but managed to extend his lead after a bad day by rivals like Holgado, 9th, or Iván Ortolá, 12th.
