Wendy Renard (32), the player with the most international caps in the history of Olympique Lyonnaishas chosen to extend his commitment to his lifelong club. The Frenchwoman, a pillar in the team’s defense, signed a contract extension until June 2027.
“I am very happy to renew with my favorite club. I arrived here when I was 16 from Martinique and now I am 34, so it is clear that Lyon has become my home. I still have the will and the ambition to continue winning of titles in this group ” he said.
Sixth in the ranking of the club’s top scorers, the centre-back has scored 151 goals in all competitions. At the European level, he is the only player to have reached and surpassed the mark of 100 games in the Champions League and, therefore, rose to first place in the ranking of players who have played the most games in the competition (116). Renard also participated in all of the club’s Champions League finals, winning all 8 titles.
