Benfica announced the transfer of the Brazilian striker Marcos Leonardo at Al Hilal, where he plays Neymar, for 40 million euros. It was one of the last operations in the market in Saudi Arabia, which now closes the window on a hectic day with clubs negotiating last-minute transfers before the deadline expires.
Leonard, 21 years old, arrived in Lisbon in January from Santos and left after 24 games and eight goals scored.
His last goal came on Friday when he converted a penalty at the buzzer that tied Benfica with their visit to Moreirense (1-1).
In his new team, Al Hilal, champions of Saudi Arabia, will also be able to keep pace with the former Barcelona player João Cancelo or the one who became Sevilla’s goalkeeper, Bond.
