AFE asks Equality to strengthen League F in La Quiniela

David Aganzo president of the Association of Spanish Footballers (AFE), asked this Wednesday the Minister of Equality, Ana Redondo, a final boost to having League F matches in Quiniela, “so that this goal will soon become a reality, something that will result in an economic return for football players, in addition to providing the ability see the competition and its protagonists.”

The president of AFE emphasized Quiniela, “with special importance and initiative with which AFE has been working for many years.” AFE recalled today “that last June, the Education, Vocational Training and Sports Commission of the Congress of Deputies, after the Popular Party presented a Non-Law Proposal, approved this proposal.”

David Aganzo held a working meeting with Ana Redondo, Minister of Equality, with María José López, co-director of the union’s Legal Department.

The AFE meeting outlined the line of work of the AFE, which interacts with the Government, political forces and various institutions. The union conveyed the association’s interest in maintaining an open line of dialogue with the Ministry of Equality, as is the case with the ministries of Labor and Social Economy and of Education, Vocational Training and Sports.

The AFE delegation also emphasized “the role of the union, with the help of Junts per Catalunya, in the modification of RD 1006/85 on maternity and conciliation issues, after the approval of the Organic Law of equal representation and balance presence of women and men”.

Finally, the AFE expressed its interest in participating in any initiative promoted by the Observatory of Equal Opportunities between Women and Men, to help improve the working conditions of female athletes in Spain.
