Fine for the owner of the dog that almost caused tragedy at La Vuelta

The General Director of Agriculture of the Government of La Rioja imposed a fine of 2,500 euros to the owner of the dog that on September 6 jumped into the road as the peloton of the Vuelta Ciclista a España passed through the town of Haro, bordering on tragedy and causing chaos among the pelotons.

Fortunately for all involved, The runners managed to avoid the animal, who stayed on the road for several seconds barking and chasing cyclists, until a woman, who was not the owner, managed to pull him away by grabbing his leash.

Haro Local Police reported the owner of the dog for failure to comply with the obligation to ensure that it is in the necessary conditions so that it does not cause harm to peopleand the regional Executive confirmed to the EFE agency the complaint and subsequent fine filed against the owner.

The Government of Rioja considered two factors: the first, the little sin by the owner, as no personal injury occurred. The fine for this reason is 500 euros. The 2,000 more is because they consider that the cause of the situation social alarm. In total, the fine amounts to 2,500 euros.

The owner can use a fine or take advantage of the advance payment, a fact that will allow him to significantly reduce the amount of the final penalty.
