The Red Bull Rampage 2024 venue for freeride’s coolest event has been announced

Date:

In one month, the first riders will go through the 18th edition of Red Bull Rampage, the leading freeride mountain biking competition in the big mountains. The top 8 female athletes will start on Thursday, October 10, followed by the top 18 male athletes on Saturday, October 12.e, as part of an all-new two-day event format that will undoubtedly be a historic showdown in the southwest Utah desert.

Red Bull Rampage 2024 will return to the iconic location of the 2018/2019 competition. The male participants will return to the same venue where they competed in 2018/2019, while the women’s competition will take place alongside the men, in a completely new virgin area, each with its own start and finish. which are gates. This newly dedicated forest area will serve as a completely blank canvas for women to explore and create the line that best reflects their style and riding skills. The five best athletes in the women’s and men’s competitions will receive the same prize money.

“2018/2019 was a special zone for me because I was a digger for my friend Bas when it was a completely new zone for Rampage and I learned a lot that year. We shared the line with the late Jordie Lunn, so I have very fond memories” said first-time competitor Casey Brown. “Having a new place for women in the inaugural year is extra special. This will certainly show the true courage required to build a complete line from top to bottom and we will be able to use our full creative potential. “I’m excited to get started.”

Meanwhile, the men returned to the site of the 2018 and 2019 contests, where some of freeride’s most legendary moments took place, including: Brandon Semenuk’s third victory of 2019 with a descent full of tricks and techniques, Godziek’s elegant and smooth drop in 2019 that won him the audience award and Brett Rheeder’s best trick of 2019 where he nailed a flat-drop foot can.

“The 2019 area is the steepest and biggest of all. It’s also super special for me, because my line there contained the biggest drop of my life,” said Red Bull athlete Szymon Godziek. “I’m excited to go back and see if I can spin that big drop!”
