Atalanta-Como, suspended due to rain

Date:

Atalanta-Como, the last match of the fifth day of Serie A, was supposed to be played this evening but the heavy rain that poured continuously at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo caused it to be postponed until tomorrow, Tuesday at the same time, 8:45 p.m

The referee Paride Tremoladain agreement with both teams, decided to suspend the match after checking the state of the pitch on three occasions with the two captains, Martin de Roon, of Atalanta, and Patrick Cutrone of Como.

Three inspections

After the first review, it was agreed not to start the game because the water accumulated on the grass prevented the ball from moving in conditions suitable for playing a soccer game.

At 9:15 pm a second inspection was conducted, then the referee decided that the match could start from 9:45 pm.

The players took to the field to carry out warm-up exercises and, after the allotted time, a third examination of the grass led to the final decision to postpone the game as a result of the rain, which did not stop falling, had deteriorated, leaving the land impassable.

During this long hour-long wait until the game was suspended, a strange scene unfolded in the locker room tunnel with the coaches of both teams. Gian Piero Gasperini and Cesc Fabregasthey talked for a long time.
