Colombian Yerson Mosquera, from Wolverhampton Wanderers, will miss the rest of the season with a serious knee injury.
Mosquera, who settled at Wolves this season after his time at Villarreal, was stretchered off in the 3-1 defeat against Aston Villa on Saturday.
Examination of the knee showed damage to the medial collateral ligament and cruciate lateral ligament, so he needed surgery and was out for the rest of the season.
“We will visit several specialists in the coming days to detail the plan for the operation that will be carried out in the next two weeks. It is clear that there is a long recovery period for Yerson and the club will be there to give him everything of his support. We need to make sure the rehabilitation is successful and the return to competition,” said Phil Hayward of the Wolves.
