Varane announces his retirement!

Raphael Varane Hang up your boots. The French center back himself announced this in a message posted on Instagram where the 2018 world champion said ‘enough’ to the 31-year-old and after his short and unsuccessful time at Cesc Fàbregas’ Como . A recent injury precipitated his decision to retire from football.

“I’ve fallen and got up a thousand times, and this time I had to stop and hang up my boots after my last game where I won a trophy at Wembley,” he explained, referring to his success at Manchester United in the FA Cup final in the spring, before his move this summer to Como in Italy, where he played just one game. Varane played for Lens (2010-2011), Real Madrid (2011-2021), Manchester United (2021-2024) and Como (2024).
