The final round of Malaga will mark Rafa Nadal’s return to Davis after five yearscertainly since the final against Canada in 2019 where he won his fifth title (2004, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2019), all in Spain except for the first in 2000, when Rafa was the standard bearer of the champion team at the Palau Sant Jordi of Barcelona.

So, Nadal and Alcaraz will reunite in the Davis Cupa very important boost for the captain, who will have them with more alternatives to face the F8 in Malaga with more chances of success.

Davis is a particular competition where not all players are comfortable for whatever reason, including the pressure of playing for teams and representing your country. Rafa, on the other hand, has always been a real ‘beast’ in this competitionone of those players who thrived in the face of any adversity, as evidenced by his impressive record: 29 wins and one loss in singles and eight wins and four losses in doubles for a total of 37-5.

Spain will face the Netherlands in the 2024 quarterfinals, sailing their gala team: Tallon Griekspoor (39th in the world), Botic Van de Zandschulp (67th), Jesper De Jong (128th) and Wesley Koolhof, their doubles specialist and No. 16 in sports.
