Carlos Sainz (Ford Raptor M-Sport) qualified third, 10 seconds behind first, the Frenchman Guerlain Chicherit (X-raid Mini JCW), in the car prologue of Morocco Rallyfifth and final round of the rally-raid World Championship.
On motorcycles, Spanish Tosha Schareina (Honda) was the best in the prologue, ahead of Botswana Ross Branch and the Australian Daniel Sanderswhich ended in 18 seconds.
Guerlain Chicheritwho achieved the seventh victory of his W2RC career, was the fastest to cover the 26 kilometers of the prologue held in Marrakech. He beat his teammate, the Portuguese Joao Ferreira, by 8 seconds, and by 10 seconds Carlos Sainz.
Cristina Gutierrez (Dacia Sandriders) finished in fifth place, 26 seconds behind Chicherit.
Schareina set the speed on two wheels to overtake branch and Sanders by 18 seconds, the American Ricky Brabec (Honda) for 21 and the Chilean Pablo Quintanilla (Honda) for 31.
The prologue established the starting order of the first stage, which will take place this Monday in Zagora at 267 timed kilometers.
