A very good De Gea has failed at Milan and supports Fiore

Date:

A superb David De Gea starred in Fiorentina’s long-suffering victory over Milan (2-1) in a match marked by missed penalties. The three launched were stopped by two goals, one Maignan to Moise Kean and two De Gea, the first to Theo Hernández and the second to Tammy Abraham, both with 1-0 on the scoreboard in favor of their team.

Paulo Fonseca’s team, which almost always ends up against its rivals in Artemio Franchi, lost again and ended their winning streak of three games in a row.

Fiorentina started the match on the right foot and in the 20th minute found a very heavy penalty from Theo Hernández on Dodó. Referee Luca Pairetto didn’t see it at first but after being warned and reviewing the action he pointed to eleven meters. That’s when the goalkeeping show began, with Maignan stopping Kean’s powerful shot.

The match heated up and Fiore, with a clearer idea of the attack, took the lead thanks to a good right hand from Adli that surprised Maignan. The 1-0 score woke Milan up a bit, and thanks to Pulisic they started to find cracks in the local rearguard. Before the break, the American made a good pass in space for Reijnders, who was clearly brought down by Comuzzo and there the referee had no doubt: the penalty.

Theo Hernández took charge, hitting a sharp shot to his right but De Gea guessed his intentions by saving. Shortly after the start of the second half, the second highest penalty came in favor of Milan. Kean, in an attempt to clear, kicked Gabbia and the referee had no choice but to point to the penalty spot.

This time it was Tammy Abraham who called for the ball, but the result was the same. The Englishman looked for a different suit and again found a good response from David de Gea. However, four minutes later Pulisic managed to beat the Spaniard with a gentle volley and level the score at 1-1.

In the 73rd minute, Kean fought off a long pass from De Gea to feed the ball to Gudmundsson. The Icelander was armed with his right leg and outpowered Maignan. The final minutes were a siege by Milan in search of an equalizer but the figure of the Madrid goalkeeper reappeared to make two saves and keep the three points at home. De Gea has won for Fiore.
