Kevin Yu, Sanderson Farms champion to make PGA Tour debut

The Taiwanese Kevin Yu he birdied the first playoff hole to beat Beau Hossler and win over him first PGA Tour title at the Sanderson Farms Championship this Sunday in Jackson, Miss.

Yu signed 675 under par, to tie Hossler (68) at 265, 23 under par. They returned to the tee on the par-4 18th hole at Jackson Country Club, and Yu found the fairway as Hossler drove left. “Everyone said that the first victory is always very special and you only get it once, so I’m very happy,” said Yu, who jumped to 36th place in the FedEx Cup and climbed to 60th place

Yu made six birdies and one bogey in the fourth round, including a birdie at the 18th to advance to the playoff. “I knew I had to make at least one birdie to have a chance to play it,” Yu said. “The putt went in and it was great,” he added.

Hossler He played third-round leader Keith Mitchell in the final pairing and both were 23 under when they hit the 18th tee. Mitchell He had a birdie putt to win the tournament in regulation, but missed and was left in the playoff. Luke Glover (66) tied Mitchell for third place at 22 under par. Alex Smalley shot the day’s round with a 9-under 63 to tie Bud Cauley (67) for fifth place at 21 under.
