The Anderlecht ultra group that caused so much trouble in Donostia on Thursday, Mauves Army 2003, released an official statement on Instagram asking for forgiveness, acknowledging the offense and explaining, in its own way, the situation.
They maintain that they are “fully aware of the consequences of the actions of some group members” and say that they are “without excuse”, that “stupidity has overcome reason” and that “it is time to learn.” The Belgians said that an important trip for them, number 400, which should have been “a party” turned into “a nightmare”, because they collectively failed to manage some members and that the situation escaped the group’s control. Five of its ultras were arrested in Anoeta, who were released a few days later, and it is unlikely that the Belgian club will be able to bring fans on the next trip, in addition to the possibility of closing the Anderlecht stadium in Brussels.
