Vinicius: “I will continue in the biggest club in the world”

The Brazilian winger reassures about his extension: “This has just started and I have a lot to gain”

Vinicius has no intention of listening to the siren songs coming from teams like PSG. While his emergence in a campaign that ended with 22 goals and 16 assists has made him one of the most sought-after players on the market, the Brazilian is determined to remain committed to Real Madrid for many years to come. A wish he repeated during his time on the ‘Bem, Amigos!’ program. from Sports TV. “I will continue at the biggest club in the world. This has just started and I have a lot of things to win, I hope to have a lot of titles by the end of my career,” the winger explained.

The carioca has his extension at Real Madrid very well on track, which will reward his exponential growth with a juicy salary increase and an increase in his severance clause that acts as a shield against the state clubs.

Real Madrid’s goal was to tie Vinicius, whose contract expires on June 30, 2024, until 2028, although the footballer is in favor of a shorter contract and all indications are that the extension will last until 2026 or 2027. The deal, which could be announced in the coming days, will reflect the international’s new status with Canarinha, who will go from the bottom of the pay scale to being one of the highest paid in the squad.

The former Flamengo player is currently receiving around €3.2 million, which will rise to around €10 million once he signs the new contract with the entity chaired by Florentino Perez. The termination clause, now set at 350 million, would practically triple to keep him out of reach from clubs like PSG, who have had him on their radar for a few years now.

Signed in May 2017, after intensive scouting led by Juni Calafat, Real Madrid’s head of international football, Vinicius landed in Chamartín in 2018, when he was of age, and has made the final jump in this last course, in which he one of the main pillars of the 35th league title and sealed the fourteenth with his goal against Liverpool in the final played at the Stade de France.

A progression about which Vinicius was rich in the interview with SportTV. “At Real, the pressure is high, but I had the help of Benzema, Marcelo, Casemiro, players with more experience. I always evolved, over time. This season has gone well, so the normal course is that next season will be better,” Vinicius said.

The winger spoke of the friction with Benzema a few seasons ago when the Frenchman criticized his playing in an aside he made with Mendy during a Champions League game against Borussia Monchengladbach. The matter is forgotten and both have woven a deadly partnership. “Nothing happened. Karim is very fond of me. He always went out of his way to help me. The next day he came to talk to me, he said it wasn’t. I always took it from the positive side . He always gives everything for me on the pitch.”

He also praised the way Carlo Ancelotti manages the dressing room. “All the young people who work with him love him and we love him. He’s always talking about Kaka, Pato, Rivaldo, Richarlison. He always tries to help us and has a very young coaching staff, who give us the information and confidence we need,” he said.
