The Argentines Tomás Martín Etcheverry and Mariano Navone This Monday they beat Frenchman Richard Gasquet and Brazilian Thiago Monteiro, respectively, in the first round of the European Open, tournaments. ATP 250 which was played in the Belgian city of Antwerp.
Etcheverry, seeded sixth, defeated Gasquet 7-6 (4) and 6-4, while Navone eliminated Monteiro with more difficulty 6-3, 4-6 and 7-6 (6).
Both Etcheverry and Navone await opponents in the round of 16. The first, against the winner of Tuesday’s match between Spaniard Roberto Bautista and the Frenchman from the previous round, Luca van Assche, and the second, against winner of the duel between another player who had to overcome the previous round, the Russian Alexey Vatutin, and the Frenchman Hugo Gaston.
