American former tennis player Serena Williams reported Wednesday that he successfully underwent surgery to remove a cyst in his neck the size of a “small grapefruit” that he first noticed in May.
Williams, winner of 23 major titles in his career, published a video on social media in which he describes the progress of the operation from the clinic.
“In May I noticed a lump on my neck. I went to the doctor, had an MRI and they told me I had a brachial cyst. They said I didn’t have to remove it if I didn’t want to, but it kept growing,” Williams reports. 43 years old.
“I decided to undergo more tests, and after three tests and a biopsy, everything was still negative, but the doctors advised me to remove the cyst as soon as possible because it was the size of a small grapefruit and can get infected, or even worse, lose,” he continued.
“So this is me taking it off. I feel very grateful and lucky because it turned out well, and above all, I’m healthy,” she added.
On Tuesday night, before publishing the video on TikTok, Williams published a message on the departure of the Spanish Rafa Nadal, which was announced last week.
