He Atlético de Madrid wants to host the final of Champions League. As reported by UEFA on Wednesday, the red and white stadium is among the declarations of interest from six member federations to host the 2027 men’s and women’s UEFA Champions League final.
In the case of the red and white stadium, it currently only has a rival to host a major European club competition event. The other four are for the women’s final. It’s about the Stadium Olympics of Baku in Azerbaijan.
These applications are non-binding, and final proposals must be delivered with the application files by March 19, 2025.
The Executive Committee of UEFA will appoint the host associations for the two finals in May 2025. The tender procedure for the selection of venues to host the 2027 UEFA club competition finals was launched on 30 September 2024, with a deadline of 21 October 2024 for the federations to express their interest.
This will be the second time after hosting the 2019 final to face the Tottenham and the Liverpool.
