The Swiss cyclist Marlem Reusserthree-time European time trial champion (2021-2023) and two-time world runner-up in the same discipline (2020 and 2021), has signed for the Movistar Team for the next three seasons.
“The idea of being part of the Movistar Team is something we’ve been working on for a long time, and something I’ve dreamed about.. I have been excited for quite some time and I sincerely believe that this is the right place, the place with the necessary spirit to develop and reach my highest potential,” said the cyclist in the statements released by his new team.
Reusser, who arrived after serving the last three years with Team SD-Worx-Protime, reported physical problems in the second half of 2024, but was “very optimistic” about the future.
“I am very optimistic and face the future with great aspirations. I have always been someone who strives to improve every day and I feel like I haven’t reached my full potential yet. I think I have the skills, both physical and mental, and the right environment by my side to go further,” he stressed.
The Swiss has an extensive track record with stage victories at the Tour de France in the 2022 and 2023 editions, and the 2022 Vuelta a España, as well as victories in laps such as the Semana Valenciana in 2024 and the Vuelta a Itzulia and the Tour of Switzerland in 2023.
