Bologna-Milan, a match in Serie A scheduled for 6:00 pm on Saturday, has been postponed, as announced today by the local authorities, due to the flooding recorded in the city in central Italy.
Much of Bologna, capital of the Emilia-Romagna region, has been affected by heavy rain and bad weather in recent days. The meeting has not been rescheduled.
Weather forecasters predict heavy rain on Saturday in Bologna, which has been the scene this week, especially in the neighborhood where the Renato Dall’Ara stadium is locatedflooding after heavy rains and overflowing of the Ravone River.
On November 5, against Real Madrid
If it is also not played on Sunday, Milan will see its busy schedule ease up a bit before facing, on November 5 at the Santiago Bernabéu, the fourth matchday of the Champions League with Real Madrid as its rivals.
Milan will host leaders Naples next Tuesday, October 29 and on Saturday, November 2, they visit Monza in the next two rounds of Serie A.
“The match between Bologna and AC Milan will involve the presence of 35,000 people in the Dall’Ara stadium, near the most exposed area in the city,” the Bologna City Council explained in the statement.
“This could lead to public order problems with the presence of fans and the closure of traffic in the entire surrounding area from early afternoon to evening,” the text continued.
