Abdelaziz Barrada, former player of Getafe and Olympique de Marseille and international for the Moroccan national team on 26 occasions, died this Thursday at the age of 35 from causes not yet known. Barrada recently retired due to heart problems, according to French and Moroccan media, and his last club was Lusitanos Saint, from the French third division.
Barrada, born in Provins (France), emerged from the PSG youth ranks, where he jumped to the Getafe youth team in 2010. He played between 2011 and 2013 for the Azulón team, a team where he played 66 which is an official match. and scored 4 as many, one of them in Madrid and another in Atlético.
He also came to the ranks of Al Jazira and Al Nasr in the United Arab Emirates, to Antalyaspor Kulubu in Türkiye and in 2019 to Gimnàstic de Tarragona.
Getafe, PSG and Marseille regretted the news on their official social media accounts. “The Getafe CF family is shocked by the death of the blue-and-white Abdel Barrada. The footballer played 66 games and scored 4 goals for Getafe in the 11/12 and 12/13 seasons. The our memory and support at this time go out to Abdel’s family and friends,” the blue entity posted on his X account.
