MINI Spain has become the official sponsor of Racers Cup 2022 and the MINI-Electricity will be the Safety Vehicles during five ‘meetings’ distributed by the Iberian Peninsula, where thirteen sprint races with varying durations were disputed. A competition aimed at starting pilots of any age, level and gender.
The single-brand Cup, which began in 2021 under the Cooper Cup name, is the most watched motor competition at the national level. This cup is intended for the beginning of any type of driver, passionate about motorsports. The car and the championship are designed to make race entry as easy as possible for beginners.
The RACER Cup competition vehicle is a MINI Cooper for all drivers, with the necessary and important modifications to increase the car’s capabilities and all the safety elements required in official competitions, in particular, the suspension and brakes have been modified in addition to the use of smooth competition tires, so this is a car that perfectly fulfills its mission.
The MINI Electric is the perfect model to be a safety car, as it has dynamic and competition genes that can be used on the track. Its innovative electric propulsion, in addition to its spacious and distinctive design, forms a vehicle that balances sustainability and competition behind the wheel.
The Racer Cup offers two formats to choose from for drivers:
-Format A consists of 2 free exercises, 1 timed training, 2 45 minute races + 1 lap and 1 pit stop with driver replacement.
-Format B consists of 2 free/official practices, 2 sprint races of 20 minutes + 1 lap, 1 race of 45 minutes + 1 lap and 1 pit stop with driver change.
It offers plenty of track time and strategic racing that adds excitement to an upcoming championship.
