Real Valladolid asserted its superiority and comfortably defeated (1-4) a more deserving Astur, who did not give up at any time and even scored a goal in the second half that put them within a goal distance of the Pucellano.
While Astur fielded eleven with the usual starters, Pezzolano made changes to his Valladolid and the Pucelanos jumped onto the Hermanos Llana synthetic turf with nine new faces compared to the last league game against Villarreal: only David Torres and Lucas Rosa, both defenders again and again.
Valladolid did not take long to show its apparent superiority – there are four categories between the First Division and the Asturian Preferential Regional – and Latasa put the visitors ahead in the 7th minute with a superb header after a corner kick was taken by Kike Perez.
Valladolid dominated and ten players from the Blanquivioleta field played on the Astur field, but the Oviedo team stayed and looked several times in André Ferreira’s place: about half an hour into the game, Latasa took advantage of a rebound after a shot by Amath to score 0-2, even though the forward was injured in the same game.
The second half of the match started and equality reigned on the Hermanos Llana synthetic grass, so Astur surprised everyone and scored 1-2 after a great cross from the left by Santi Ramos that Robi Toral headed into the net in end pole. .
Three minutes after the local goal, Valladolid calmed the spirit of the local public and Kike Pérez scored 1-3 in a counterattack led by Chuky, although Sergio Delgado, Astur’s goalkeeper, had his good moment by stopping a penalty against Meseguer a few minutes later.
The match ended 1-4, Meseguer’s feat with a header, and the 1,500 spectators gathered at the Hermanos Llana applauded the Oviedo team in recognition of their great draw: meanwhile, Real Valladolid was in the second round of the King’s Cup.
