This Friday, June 24, is celebrated, in the south of Gran Canaria, the Maspalomas Cup opening day. From 4:00 pm to night, the Rodagon Sport team schedules a variety of games and activities start the 8th edition in style. Referees, authorities, coaches and family members will wear shorts to enjoy the king of sports at the same stage where approximately 3,000 children will do so until next Wednesday the 29th.
An opening day which, one more year, coincides with UD Las Palmas I+I and CD Tenerife EDI-PC, values such as respect, equality, inclusion, normalization, social commitment and solidarity, are wonderfully represented. The two teams set an example, this season LaLiga Genuinethe best competition in the world made up of teams from the DI group (people with intellectual disabilities), and they will offer us a spectacular Canarian derby as the kick-off of the tournament.
When the matches are over, around 8:00 pm, the parade of participants from the fields of Maspalomas Sports City to South Park, where an opening ceremony full of presentations, surprises and gifts will take place. One day later, on Saturday 25, at 09:00 am the ball will begin to roll in the group stage clashes of five categories: prebenjamín, benjamín, alevín, infantile and cadet. Everything is ready for the great celebration of Canarian grassroots football.
