Jacobs has advanced to his return to the track and will compete this Saturday

“Hello everyone, big surprise! Tomorrow I will participate in the 2022 Italian Championship in Rieti”reported the sprinter on his Instagram account.

The Olympic champion was diagnosed with first degree muscle elongation on May 23, without identifying at any time the affected muscle or leg.

The Italian Athletics Federation (FIDAL) announced on June 16 that it had re -evaluated Jacobs to see the recovery process: “The result was positive and allowed the athlete to continue training regularly.”

The Italian has scheduled his return for the World Athletics Championships in Eugene (Oregon, United States), which will take place from July 15 to 24, although he will assess with FIDAL and his coach the possibility of participating in a competition in preparation.

This way, Jacobs will return to the track this Saturday to compete in Rieti (north), 38 days after his last and only race of the season in the 100 meters.
