In Paraguay They don’t want to see a t-shirt Leo Messi at the Defensores del Chaco stadium in Asunción, where tomorrow Thursday the Paraguayan national team will face Argentina in a World Cup qualifying match. No one wearing the shirt of the Argentine star will be allowed to enter. From none of their teams: Argentina, FC Barcelona, PSG and Inter Miami.
“Fans wearing shirts of the national team of Argentina, Barça, PSG or Inter Miami, with Messi’s name on the back, will not be able to access the stadium,” said Fernando Villasboa, manager of the Paraguayan soccer federation about on the controversial average. The ban also extends to all Argentine teams and players who are not from Paraguay.
“No one can wear the shirt of the national team of Argentina, of Argentine clubs or of clubs with the names of players from other countries. We want to paint the Defensores del Chaco with the colors of Albirroja, so that the the players are the support of the stands,” added Villasboa. One of the main reasons for the ban is to guarantee the security of the stadium to avoid possible fights, inside and outside it.
This measure was already applied to Vinicius Júnior in that match against Brazil in September, where fans wearing the Real Madrid star’s shirt were not allowed to enter the stadium.
