Date:

The General Meeting of Shareholders of RC Celta it approved on Wednesday a budget of 107 million euros for the 2024-25 season, in which it plans to make sales of 34 million.

Celta’s shareholders approved by a large majority the management of the board of directors and the annual accounts of the last campaign, as well as the ratification of the merger agreement between Society and the Mos Sports Union for the creation of a women’s team, the first in the history of the entity.

The previous year’s accounts, marked with compensation to the former celestial technician Rafael Benitez and the former sports adviser Luis Camposshowed a loss of 7.5 million euros. This is the second consecutive financial year that the Galician club has closed with losses, although so far it continues to boast zero debt.

“We are a solvent company that can meet our payments,” declared Celta’s financial director, Sonia García, which advanced that income from subscribers and ticket sales offset the decrease in money received from the sale of television rights.

“The presidency of a football club is a challenge.” and, if this is also the team of your life, it is an endless responsibility, full of passion, feelings and emotions that should guide you, but not condition you, to make the best decisions for the club,” explained of the president, Marian Mouriño, in his speech.

The businesswoman, who took the presidency after the departure of her father Carlos, pointed out that the new strategic plan they presented tonight to shareholders will mark Celta’s “path” of the future.

“This is a plan that will strengthen the connection with the community, which will help us improve the competitiveness of the sport. With this plan, we seek to regain the economic stability we need to guarantee long-term stability,” he said.

In this sense, and unlike his father’s speech, Marián Mouriño said that Celta’s “growth” involves “establishing ourselves in Vigo, with Balaidos and A Madroa stadiums.”

“We believe it is important to support this growth to reach alliances and international agreements with other clubs with the aim of helping us in the recruitment, development and performance of our players,” highlighted the Celta’s highest shareholder.
