This is the purpose of awareness campaign “Blue Scarves”, promoted by the science and technology company Merck, with the endorsement of the Spanish Association of Head and Neck Cancer Patients (APC), on the occasion of National Head and Neck Cancer Day.

Yesterday, after an exciting match in between Getafe CF and Espanyol that ended with a 1-0 victory for the home team, the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez stadium experienced an unforgettable moment. All players return to the field after the final whistle, and the fans, standing, heard a very special version of the Getafe CF anthem performed by four head and neck cancer patients.
He video shown in the stadium introduces the courage of patients who, despite the visible consequences of the disease, have shown that their voice and spirit remain strong.
This disease is characterized by affecting the visible parts of the body and making it difficult to perform daily activities such as drinking, eating or talking. Despite the consequences, the patients who participated in the campaign showed that they were not stopped by the disease.
