Lewis Hamilton ended his time at Mercedes this past Sunday at Yas Marina after twelve seasons in which he won as many as six F1 world championships. However, despite the first post-season test being held in Abu Dhabi, the British driver was unable to make his Ferrari debut due to publicity commitments.
At a Petronas event held in Malaysia, Lewis Hamilton spoke about one of the greatest legends to ever walk through Formula 1, Sebastian Vettel. And now, the British and the German will not only have in common having won at least one world championship, but now they will also be united in the fact of spending time in the Italian team.
However, Hamilton did not speak about the German’s journey with Ferrari after leaving Red Bull, but instead praised him for his human condition.
“He’s the best world champion I’ve ever met, because he’s more than a driver, he’s someone who’s very passionate and empathetic, and cares about people,” Hamilton explained.
“He is someone who used his platform for something good, I have met many famous people and people who do not use their time for others, and I do not care how good a driver he is, even he is still very fast, “We have had great races together, but for me, I have had the best races with him,” commented the Briton to Vettel.
